Deanna and I have planned some major changes for the site. To kick them off, we have a major plot coming up. I shall explain what is to happen to you, and whether you'll take part in it (note, whether you take part or not it'll still effect your characters).
Firstly, all loners will need to join a pack or die. After the plot is started, all loners will be killed on sight by packmembers, if the loner doesn't intend the join the pack. Loners not wanting to join the pack will be accused of spying and will be murdered.
Note, there will soon only be 2 packs on NM. Since most of the packs are empty, we are getting rid of them. There will be the Paradise Falls Pack, led by Deanna and Damon, and the Dark Veil pack, led by Rave.
What? How did Rave get a pack? Well, that's the plot... if you haven't caught on to my subtle hints in my threads, Rave has been planning something big for a while. Anyway here's the plot... NOTE: IT HASN'T HAPPENED YET!.
Rave met Deanna when he reappeared to the packlands and told her he would be her weapon of distruction against her enemies and unloyal packmates, her tool for conquering. Deanna is going to freak out and refuse his offer. They get into an argument (because secretly Rave is obsessed with Deanna and wants her love and approval)and Rave thinks she's making a mistake.
So he plans to conquer her pack (and thus, her) but opening a rebellion. He'll do this at the upcoming pack hunt in Paradise Falls. Many packmembers will join him in the rebellion. Deanna is furious and threatens to kill him and everyone who turned against her. But Rave kidnaps Twister as leaverage, to keep Deanna from hurting them, and starts the Dark Veil pack.

Anyway, please reply with your comments and what not. REPLY WITH YOUR PLANNED ALLEGIANCE: EITHER DARK VEIL OR PARADISE FALLS. Whether you don't like Rave, or don't want to betray Deanna, we still need wolves for the plot to join the new pack. Also note that your character can be 'innocent' and honestly believe Rave when he says Deanna has become weak.

Good to see you're interested. I kind of figured Raven wouldn't side with Rave... hee hee... Anyway, I edited a link to a plot thread where Deanna and Rave or interacting.

I personally, do not like the idea.
For one, How come YOU get to randomly get a pack? I mean really.
All loners need to join a pack or die? That's just stupid. There are those free souls who don't want a pack.

Anyways, I don't want to screw around with the whole plot and such.
Well, Southcall already HAD a pack, but just kill him off. I don't care. And Night, just kill him, he's a loner. As for Rustyfeathers, she can just leave.
I'm seriously thinking about quitting this role play then.
You don't just change the whole plot of a role play, a plot that serious. Just go ahead and give New Moon a new name then, becasue you changed all the junk about it that made it good.
Just whatever.
And another thing, New Moon, only has about 5 active members.
I want the old New Moon back.

No, I'm not mad. I can completely understand your point of view, and actually... to tell you the truth … I did anticipate some of what you said.

Okay, on this one... I had a pretty big plot going with Rave (as you can see by clicking the link above) that started in several threads the moment I returned to the site. However, it was originally going to be an internal pack plot. The details vary slightly, but it was going to end up (if Deanna icly accepted) with Rave doing a major 'smack down' on the pack members and going to war with anyone he thought was a 'threat' to the pack.
One major facter that made us decide not to have it as just an internal pack plot was the fact: who is rave supposed to go to war with? All the other packs are completely empty.
When we decided to do a major plot, me and Deanna (Deanna being the one to suggest this) suggested "maybe Southcall or Rave could do some sort of rebellion" - is what Deanna said. I would have given you the role, but there were a few things that hindered this. There are three packs on New Moon: Paradise Falls, Shadow Valley, and Rainbow Hill. Shadow Valley and Rainbow Hill are completely empty. That and I haven't seen good activity from you to warrant placing the start of a pack in your hands. If you were to fall inactive, your entire pack would fall inactive. So in the end, I suggested my previously started plot to Deanna and she agreed. Hence this is why we are abolishing two of the packs.
However, I did specify that once the packs filled to a decent amount, you would be able to create your pack again.

I personally think that we've given members too much leniency. In the wild, lone wolves have about a 90% fatality rate. Lone wolves just don't survive and it's unrealistic. Putting this aside, I think that members have had too much freedom with the topic of lone wolves. Check out how many character profiles there are. Then check out the pack ranks. Nearly everyone that joins this site has become a lone wolf. Too many lone wolves = inactivity.
I can seem how I may have over reacted on this subject. After consideration, maybe a cap on lone wolves should be made. Like 2 for every 10 pack wolves. I believe something like this would account for those ‘free souls’ who would like to remain loners. As well, inactive loners would be quicker to be deleted and removed from the ranks to free space for others.

In my experience, boards with loose plots do better than strict free form games with no plots. As well, the idea of a plot is to encourage activity from old members as well as attract new members.
I hope this explains a lot about what went on. I truly don't want you to leave the site simply because of this. If you wish, you can keep your characters as loners and I'll just make a lone wolf to pack wolf ratio cap.
As for the 'old new moon' the site hasn't really changed that much. I doubt this plot will last too long with Twister getting older and all. I've been part of this site since it opened, when Deanna was still Kangetsu and she accepted me as beta. If anything, there has just been little booms where there were members starting threads, then they didn't reply or come back again.

I like it! It`s unexpected, admittedly though.
But it`s a good idea, a good way to shake up the universe.

Oh and P.S.: I hope I`m not being rude with this but when was anyone planning on telling the Alpha`s of the packs that are getting deleted that they were being deleted? Sorry! I just wanted to know!

That's what it says. THe only alphas are you and southcall played by LGW....
